Mirrored Mountains

Image Information: 1280 x 1024. This is an experiment with the Water Reflection settings in Terragen, and it is a pure Terragen render with no other post-processing. The distant mountains were made more than 3 times higher than the foreground ones, since I was trying to determine the angles of reflection on the water given varying distances. The render time for this one was about 40 minutes, again most of which was water.
Artistic Information: I'm going for scale here. If you picture the dark green patches in the foreground as being treetops, you get some sense of the size of this landscape.On this scale, the foreground mountains would rival the Alps, while the high mountain to the right in the background rises to a height of over 10 kilometers - higher than Everest! I actually had Brian Aldiss's Helliconia trilogy in mind when I did this one, so fans of that trilogy might recognise it as Lake Dorzin from Helliconia Spring...
