Image Information: 1280 x 1024. Visualisation of Mount Thunder overlooking Landsdrop. The landscape was drawn up as a grayscale heightmap in Photoshop, using Stephen Donaldson's
maps and descriptions in Lord Foul's Bane as a general guide. After a bout of Erosion filtering in World-Machine, the landscape was brought into Terragen and rendered. The
two figures, modified from the Zygote objects in Cinema4D's inbuilt object library, as well as the rocks (the same ones used in Aimanhyarin Dream - I'm getting lazy in my old age!)
were then rendered in Cinema4D with the landscape as a Background. The Terragen render took 12 minutes; the Cinema4D render took another 15.
Artistic Information: I picked this scene from Lord Foul's Bane as being the easiest one to start off with, and set about creating it. I particularly like the volumetric shadowing
coming off Landsdrop, and the general atmosphere of wilderness associated with the location. This is the scene where Lord Mhoram takes Covenant aside to show him Mount Thunder in
Chapter 21 of Lord Foul's Bane.
