Image Information: 1280 x 960. This image is another Terragen/Cinema4D composite. First, the Terragen landscape was rendered and the image
used as a background for the Cinema4D component. The girl is an example of my new full-body female model, showing the kinematics in action.
Her skirt and top were created using the new Cloth features in Cinema4D R9, and the ground texture uses the new Sub-Polygon displacement
feature. Render time for this image was around 17 minutes for the Terragen image, and 7 minutes for the Cinema4D image.
Artistic Information: With this image I started practicing using the kinematics on single-mesh models. This is no joke - I spent two
weeks working out the maths of how women move (yes, I know, I need a life! :) ) so I could get the flexion and limb distortion right.
(Thanks must go to my brother's girlfriend Dunya for her demonstrations of female motion patterns, and her helpful advice regarding dress
design!)
I redid this image on 23/12/2004 because the grass in the previous one looked like crap. Cinema4D's Sub-Polygon Displacement is good for many things. but
doing grass is not one of them. I've worked out some better techniques of doing grass now and here's the result!
Picture Story: An Aimanhyarin girl, Kam-Kalya Sanshina, shows us why Aimanhyarin have wings...
