This guide has been compiled to give an indication of the average expected ratio of progeny from a variety of 'silver group' matings. The guide also indicates which matings give the greatest chance to produce a desired target colour. It is by no means a complete listing for all possible mating combinations.

All calculations, except for those in Table 1, are based on genotypes which are homozygous for 'silver' (i.e. cannot produce non-silver progeny). Calculations including coat length have not been considered for this guide.

In Tables 2 and 3, genotypes for colour variations are given in square brackets.

Ta (Abyssinian pattern tabby gene) and A (Agouti gene) have not been shown in genotypes as these are common to all Abyssinian colour variations.
