- November 21st 2000:
- Site moved to http://www.alphalink.com.au/~ord/ginblossoms_guitar_archive/.
- Tab pages changed. Previously you could only view all the formats (tabs, chords, etc) of a song. I've updated the site, incorporating CGI. When you initially choose a song, you are presented with a page containing all the different avaliable transcription formats for a song. From there you can uncheck any you don't want, press 'Display Selected Formats', a whola! So now you can view or print just one, or selected formats straight from the page. Stay tuned for more functionality to be added. (Links to songs on this page need to be fixed. Use the main page for the time being.)
- May 24th 2000:
- NEW Frequently Asked Questions section added.
- NEW Biggest Date / I'll Find Out What There Is Acoustic Demo Tablature
- NEW Flaming Moes Chords
- ADDED Heart Away Tab Fills

- NEW Til I Hear It From You Bass Tablature.
- April 31st 2000:
- Thank god for Style Sheets. I've just reformatted all the pages. Not only does it look better, but printing straight from the web should now be possible. I'm not sure how well older browsers will cope with the sheets, but will at least give better results to Netscape 4 and IE5 users.
- After four years I've finally gone and changed gin_blossoms.html to index.html. So, the URL is http://minyos.its.rmit.edu.au/~s9606303/gin/ rather than http://minyos.its.rmit.edu.au/~s9606303/gin/gin_blossoms.html, if anyone feels inclined to change their links. There is a redirector, so the old URL will still work. Also, the whole URL will no doubt change in a few months when I finish up school. Stay tuned for the new URL when the time comes. Again, there will be some sort of redirection and a notice until my account is nuked.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
- How do I print out these tabs?
- I'm only interested in viewing or printing ONE of the transcriptions of a song.
- You have songs like Hey Jealousy listed under New Miserable Experience, but not Dusted. Why?
- Okay, but basically the chords and structure are the same across versions...
- What about us with 4 strings!? (Bass tabs)
- I've requested a certain song. When will you have it done?
- The page hasn't been updated in a while. Are you still updating it?
- 'Coming Soon'. That hasn't changed for as long as I can remember, what is your definition of soon? :-)
- Can you explain 'Tablature' 'Tab' and 'Chords'?
- How do I print out these tabs?
I've recently reformatted all the tab pages in a smaller font, so it's now possible to pretty much print them out straight from the page, straight from your browser. If they're still too wide to print on a page, try printing them landscaped. There was also a problem years ago of white text on black background pages not printing. Although browsers these days generally have an option to fix this when printing, I've changed all the tab pages to black text on white background to avoid the problem all together.
If you have the files downloaded, themn try opening in a text editor (such as Wordpad / Write), make the font Courier or another monospaced font (all characters the same width) and print the Again, if they're still too wide, try smaking the font smaller, or print landscaped. - I'm only interested in viewing or printing ONE of the transcriptions of a song.
I initially formatted the page to have all different forms of a transcription on one page, because personally it annoys me clicking x amount of times to see different versions of a transcription. It could be annoying transversely, having to print them all when you're just after one. I'm in the process of making the pages customizable, so you can view one, many or all of the avaliable transcriptions.
Okay, as of November 2000, this is now a reality. Go to the song you want to view or print. The avaliable formats will be listed at the top of the page. You can deselect the ones you don't wish to see, and click "Display selected formats". The page will reload with only the transcriptions you require. You can deselect and select again from the new page.
By default (when you choose a song from the main page), all the transcriptions for that song are initially displayed. - You have songs like Hey Jealousy listed under New Miserable Experience, but not
Dusted. Why?
Yes, many of the songs on Dusted were later re-recorded. However, I'm only putting the Dusted related transcriptions under Dusted. For example, for Hey Jealousy there will be two pages, one for the Dusted version, one for the New Miserable Experience version. Same is true for things like Allison Road. The album version will be found under the appropriate version, the Allison Road '94 remix (from the single) will appear seperately. (Note that Allison Road and Mrs. Rita from both Up And Crumbling are the same versions and share the same file.) - Okay, but basically the chords and structure are the same across versions...
True. Just use the other version if a Dusted specific version isn't there. - What about us with 4 strings!? (Bass tabs)
Definately the most popular question. :-) I'm all for providing bass tabs as well as guitar tabs. Though, given that I'm a guitarist, not a bass player, I don't typically work out bass lines and tab them. My bass playing (on the odd occasion I pitch shift down an octave) very rarely goes beyond playing root notes. :-) (More or less). However, if anyone submits any, then they're be avaliable. On the main page, songs with an astricks have bass tabs. - I've requested a certain song. When will you have it done?
I don't know. As much as I'd like to sit around and tab out every song, I don't have the time. I basically do tabs randomly. If a certain song is requested, then I'm more likely to work on that than some other one, but I can't guarentee when or if I'll get it done. If I do, or someone else submits that tab, then I will more than likely email you to let you know it's avaliable. This is am onguing task. Rome wasn't built in a day. Neither were the tabs here. :-) - The page hasn't been updated in a while. Are you still updating it?
Yes. I'm pretty much going to maintain this site indefinately. Especially since the band has broken up, updates are fewer and further between than back in the day. But the site is still alive and will grow when there are new tabs to add, just maybe slower than in the past.
Of course, as of 2002, the Blossoms are back. - 'Coming Soon'. That hasn't changed for as long as I can remember, what is your
definition of soon? :-)
Refer to to the question about when a song will be done. Unfortunately, this ain't no paying day job, so the time I spend on tabs is limited. Basically the "coming soon" section is a list of what I'm working on, or intend to work on. It's a list of what your most likely to see added, whenever I get it finished. Maybe 'coming eventually' would be more appropriate. ;-) - Can you explain 'Tablature' 'Tab' and 'Chords'?
This is how I catagorize the transcriptions:
- Tablature - Complete tablature, pretty much a note for note transcription, like what you'd find in a [decent] guitar magazine.
- Tab - Any other tablature which isn't a complete note for note transcription.
- Tab & Chords - Some sort of tablature (usually a solo, main riff or lick) but basically chords.
- Chords - Simple chords, no tablature.
