There seems to be a discrepancy between the birth/death dates and ages:
b1896 and d1976 @ 80years
b1890 and d 1976 @83 (but maths = 86?)
d1918+48 = d 1966

b = +/- 18 Jan 1890

Both souces (oral) say 1890/1896 for birth. The say death at 80/83 years.
Year of death seems to be agreed at 1976. Therefore cannot reconcile birth!

She kept comprehensive diaries - 40 (A4 size) in all. The BBC is going to
use 6 diaries from the war period to make a documentary (called 'No Bananas')
about a typical family during the war. It will be screened at 18h00 from
1st December 1995 in UK.

On her third marriage to Tony Nunn, she did not change from her previous
married name of Browne, but instead kept the name Browne so as not to lose
pension from her 2nd husband.

"She was, by the consent of all who knew her, a truly remarkable and loving person. She had no favourites and made many sacrifices to treat each of her children the same. The sorrows of her life she kept to herself and had the happy gift of making each one seem special in her eyes. That our diverse family have remained together is entirely due to her wonderful legacy. A mother in a million."
