Hardie still keeps his job - this (farm) is more of a hobby than a livelihood, although we hope to make it pay for itself. We have one cow who has just calved so we get 3 gallons of milk per day. I sell one gallon to the factory.... We have got 36 fowls and get enough eggs for plenty ourselves and I sell about 3 dozen a week. I make butter and bread... It is Hardie's dream to fill the place with flowers that we can send to market. He put in 500 plants last week and 1000 stawberry plants ... and 1000 lily bulbs... We are growing vegeetables just for our own use and we are going to try keeping ducks. Rex has got a field of his own and is growing medicinal herbs.... Being so far out in the bundus... I have got a gun but can't shoot straight... I also have a big dog. It's not the natives that are about here - it is the strange ones that wonder along and if they have been drinking they are horrible" "Mother is coming out next Christmas for 4 months and I shall go back with her I expect fo about 3 months" | ||
