George was a lovely guy, very gruff when he talked to you but would do anything to help people, as an example he nursed a neighbour who was dying of cancer for a long period - this man was Muriel's father and that was how they met. George and Muriel and Nan and Arthur all got on well and most Sunday afternoon's G & M would turn up at Nan's and stay for tea and to play cards for pennies.
