Programmes There are various ways that you can become a part of the success of PBA-FM: PBA-FM welcomes members of the public, companies and small business to share the community spirit by becoming a member of the station by making an annual subscription. Annual membership starts from $15 for pensioners, the unemployed and students, individuals are $30, groups and business can also become members. By becoming a member of PBA-FM you can take a more active roll and become a volunteer. Volunteering is a great way of putting something back into the community, you wont get paid but you’ll make some great friends and have plenty of fun in both on-air and off-air roles. PBA-FM gives the opportunity for members of the community to train in broadcasting with many volunteers gaining positions in the ABC and commercial radio and television stations. Regular training courses in technical operations and broadcast law are run enabling volunteers to become studio operators. With further training some volunteers may be given further responsibilities: undertake programme production, assist with the running of training or sit on working committees. At PBA-FM we’re as diverse as the community we serve. Many local community groups, ethnic, religious and special interest broadcast their own programmes on PBA-FM with financial support from the Community Broadcasting Foundation. Specialist interest groups can apply for programme air time and further inquiries should be made by contacting us during office hours.
