Script

Person sitting in the audience; Jesus walks in and looks around at various people in the audience, looking for someone specific. He then comes up to Person, looks at him/her carefully, puts his hand at their shoulder and motions Person to follow him. Person reacts with surprise and pride.
"Me? You're choosing me? Out of all these people? Not him or him or her? Me? Oh Lord, it's such a privilege to be chosen by you! I never thought you'd choose me! I'd do anything for you Lord."

Jesus motions Person to sit on the chair
"Sit down? Sure, no problems! I can sit down, Lord. Anything you say!"

Jesus then mimes picking up a jug of water and pouring it over Person's head and then starts gently moving Person
"Oh, Lord ... that's so nice, so refreshing! You know just what I need, Lord - blessings, just keep giving me those blessings! Lord, you're so kind and gentle..."

Jesus begins to move Person a little harder in circles, by putting his hands on Person's shoulders, as if on a Potter's wheel
"But Lord, wait a minute! What are you doing?"

Person jumps off chair out of Jesus's reach
"What do you think you're doing? I mean, Lord, you're so kind and gentle, but you were getting a bit hard on me there. I mean that was beginning to hurt! You don't have to be harsh with me, you know, Lord, I'm not so bad ! "

Jesus motions Person to sit down again
"You want me to sit down again? Well, if you're going to be nice and gentle and give me all those blessings ... but if you're going to be harsh with me ..."

Jesus again motions Person to sit down
"Well, sure, I'll sit again Lord. Why not?"

Person sits on chair again. Jesus again pours a jug of water over the Person's head and strokes
"Ah, you've got the idea Lord! I can tell, we're going to get along just fine!"

Jesus now moves his hand sharply away from Person's shoulder, as if he is throwing something away
"Ouch! Hey! What are you doing?"

Person jumps off chair again
"What do you think you're doing Lord? I mean listen, it's one thing that you chose me, and I really appreciate all the blessings that you give me and well, ... you can be like ... well ... sort of Lord of my life, but you can't just take those things from me! Their mine ... I need them ... I haven't given them to you!."

Jesus motions for Person to sit down
"And you want me to sit down again. But you're going to take things from me, aren't you?"

Jesus motions for Person to sit down again. Person talks as they sit down
"Oh, all right! I'll sit down, but you're going to have to understand that there are some areas of my life that I have perfectly good control over. You can't just take them from me!"

Jesus now puts hands over Person's eyes
"Lord!! My eyes ... what are you doing? I can't see!"

Jesus now puts hands over Person's ears
"And my ears ... Lord, I can't hear! What are you doing?"

Alternative 1

Jesus stretches out his arms as if showing the person a scene
"Oh Lord, why are you showing me the world? I don't want to see all the hurt and confusion. There is so much of it, but I didn't cause it! What can I do about it?"

Jesus shows another scene
"Lord, what are You telling me? Are You asking me to go wherever You want me to go?"

Alternative 2

Jesus stretches out his arm to the right as if showing the person a scene
"Oh Lord, why are you showing me those people who are living in the streets and those children dying of starvation? There are so many! What can I do about them?

Jesus stretches out his arm out in front of the person as if showing the person a scene
"And Lord, now you're showing me all those drug addicts and alcoholics and prostitutes! What do I have to do with them? I'm not like those people!!!"

Jesus stretches out his arm to the right as if showing the person a scene
"Oh and Lord, now you're showing me those people bowing down to idols and worshipping other gods. Look, they've rejected you, not me! I've seen enough!"

Jesus moves his hands in a downward movement, as if revealing Person's heart
"Oh Lord, now you're showing me all this sin in my life! I never realised that there was so much pride and selfishness and hatred!"

Person jumps off chair again
"Why do you show me all these things? Can't you see that it hurts me to see all those people dying in their sin and oh, to see all this sin in my own life? Don't you understand?"

Jesus motions Person to sit
"And you want me to sit! But it hurts, Lord! Why does it hurt so much when I'm walking with you; and yet there is so much love in your eyes!"

Jesus motions Person to sit again
"But you want me to sit again, and what can I do? I mean, you died for me, and you chose me, and I know that you only want the best for my life ... I'll sit."

Person sits down. Jesus begins the moulding movement
"But Lord, it hurts! It hurts to be broken! It hurts to be changed and to be transformed into your image, but Father, I WANT YOU TO MOULD ME!"

Person and Jesus bow forward, heads down. Jesus has his hands on Person's shoulders.
Spot light goes off.

Someone reads: "So I went to the potter's house ..." from Jeremiah 18:3-6 OR "Woe to him who quarrels with his Master ..." Isaiah 45:9 OR "Yet, O Lord, you are our Father ..." Isaiah 64:8.
