| In this tutorial you will learn how to make people focus on an object in your image.
Step 1: Open the image you wish to apply this technique to, I'm going to be using this royalty-free stock image I found. 
Step 2: Duplicate the background layer once, ending up with 2 layers the same. You can call the new layer whatever you want, or can leave it as the default name. 
Step 3: Select the new layer, then go to FILTER>BLUR>LENS BLUR. 
Use these settings. 
Step 4: Your image should look blurred like mine below. 
Step 5: With the new layer still selected, select the eraser tool. Choose a brush size that will allow for decent control, I used the size 13 brush with soft edges. For better control use the lasso tool and select the object u want to focus on. Then start erasing, although I didn't use much control with mine, you can still see how it looks. 
There we have it, your photo now has an object of focus, hope it turned out for you as well as it did for me. |
