A few memories from people:-
Children caught the train for school at Batlow, the only thing was they lived between stations and as the trains were very slow climbing the hills they ran after and jumped on board. (I wonder if they paid!!??)
A fireman said that as the train was slow and at the time rabbits were numerous they threw lumps of coal at them then jumped off, picked up a rabbit and back on board they cooked it on the shovel. So if you wanted some coal for heating there was plenty near the line!

With the opening of the line to Batlow on 10 May 1922 an island platform and signal box was constructed. The original platform was removed.
The station was opened and closed on two further occasions between 1 July and 17 October, for the booking of goods and coaching traffic.
