North Melbourne earnt $104,500 prizemoney, making their way through the knock-out competition by defeating Brisbane by 60 points, Essendon by 27 and St Kilda by 27. Wayne Carey was one of the best players of the series, with 2 goals against Brisbane, 7 against Essendon, 6 against St Kilda and 3 against Adelaide.
