Could Bell win the Rising Star Award?

Peter Bell, recruited to North after playing just two games for Fremantle is one of the players eligible to win the Norwich Rising Star Award. Bell was nominated for the award after his game against Melbourne, in which he kicked 4 goals.

Bell has kicked 22 goals in his 20 games for North Melbourne this year, and against Richmond he was again amongst the best players. The South-Korean born Bell was adopted by Kevin and Jo Bell as a baby, and brought to Australia.

Growing up in Western Australia, Bell played State junior football, and was drafted by Fremantle. In 1995 he played just two games for the Dockers, but was delisted - his lack of pace said to be incompatible with the Fremantle gameplan.

Fremantle's loss was North Melbourne's gain. Bell has been a consistant player, and a good addition to the small man department of Stevens, Rock and Scott.

Norwich has a homepage, and keep your eye out. Peter Bell may win the prestigious award.

Adam Simpson is the other North Melbourne player nominated for the Norwich Rising Star Award.
