Fairbridge Farm Fairbridge Farm School was established on a property four miles from Molong, once called "Narragoon". Mr Richard R. Beauchamp was selected by a Committee as Principal. The first party from England bound for Molong arrived in Sydney on March 24th 1938. They were greeted by Mr Beauchamp who then took them to Government House where they met His Excellency the Governor and Lady Wakehurst. Fairbridge was closed and the property was sold in 1973 to Mr Tom Barrett of Orange. Some of the cottages were sold and removed. A memorial reserve has been established beside the Mitchell Highway about 7 km to the east of Molong, opposite the site of the Village of Fairbridge Farm School. The reserve is on part of the Fairbridge property and was known as "Creek Paddock" or "Creekside Paddock". A plaque on the Cairn at Kingsley Fairbridge Memorial Reserve reads. On this 1500 acre Fairbridge Farm, From 1938 to 1973 some 1200 British and Australian Boys and Girls were brought up to love the country, and to learn country skills and ways, in keeping with ideals of Kingsley Fairbridge, Founder of the Fairbridge Farm Schools of Australia and Canada.
