THE COACH
(Mark Mickan)
"Everyone took their turn to tackle and put their over the ball. That was the thing that identified the game for us and helped us to win."

COMMENTS
The Tigers have defeated Sturt by 33 points to make a perfect start to the 2009 campaign. After quarter time the Tigers were never seriously threatened. The Blues made a surge midway through the third quarter to reduce a 35 point deficit to 18 points but the experienced Seasiders steadied the ship.

The victory was not as satisfying as it should have been. Glenelg missed several easy shots in out-shooting the visitors 28 to 15.

Ken Farmer Medalist Brent Chambers was well held by newcomer Wayde Mills, captain Ben Mules and youngster Lachlan Button.

Adam Fisher and Trevor Cranston
