THE COACH
(Peter Simmons)
"For whatever reason we've done it again and played terrible football in the last quarter.  We rotated our midfield extensively and had a really light week on the track thinking it might have been a fitness issue.  I think it's a real mental aspect of our game we have to work on and improve."

COMMENTS
The Tigers recorded a confidence boosting 30 point victory against Norwood.  The home side effectively snuffed any thoughts of a Norwood victory with a 6 goal to 1 third quarter.  Matthew Duldig was a focal point up forward with strong leading, strong marking and 5 goals.

The Tigers won the toss and elected to kick with the aid of a 3-4 goal breeze.  After dominating possession and entries inside 50, Glenelg's 26 point lead at quarter should have been greater.  However, in the second quarter Norwood failed to take advantage of the breeze and Glenelg's wasteful first quarter.

With the aid of the breeze in the last quarter the Redlegs gained some scoreboard respect but the damage was done in the premiership quarter.  Eleven scoring shots to one in the third quarter sealed the fate of both sides.

Sixteen year old Bryce Gibbs made an impressive debut with 21 possessions and a goal with his first kick in league football.  Former Glenelg forward, Jamie Vlatko, returned to the Bay for the first time since departing last year and probably wished he was still wearing the black and gold.  Vlatko kicked 4 goals 2 behinds.

The Tigers failed to take advantage of a 52 point three quarter time lead and should have smashed Norwood by a greater margin.  However, a win is a win and something to build on when they confront the Roosters at Prospect in round 8.
