A Home for the Laughing Kookaburra A Typical Nest Box for the Kookaburra
This is the only bird I know that looks like it's going to fall out of it's tree when it laughs! Wonder who it's laughing at - not me! These fellows don't have many big old trees to nest in. They like a BIG nest, but it's easy to make.

SPECIAL NOTES
Face the hole slightly down and to the north-east if possible. This way little rain can get in and your kookaburras will get some morning sun to make them happy.

These guys are not afraid of heights! They like it high up. 5 to 10 metres is ideal.

NESTING SEASON
September to January

That should make them laugh! :)
