This is not trick photography. Some dust storms "roll in" like this. In the mining / tourist town of Coober Pedy (from the aboriginal "kupa piti" meaning "white man's hole in the ground"), located some 850 kilometres (530 miles) by road north-north-west of Adelaide, the temperature often exceeds 40°C (104°F). Some of the residents live underground in well-appointed homes.
