CONCERN FOR KIDS

(DO NOT SEND US MONEY: We’re asking for a little of your time and energy).

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED TO CHANGE THE WORLD FOR CHILDREN

WE WANT YOU TO:

LET YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND GOVERNMENTS
KNOW THAT YOU ARE CONCERNED FOR KIDS.

       MILLIONS of kids all over the world are hungry, uneducated, sick, dying.

       Wars, over population, oil, armaments, corruption, big business, must all
       take responsibility for this situation.

WHAT CAN YOU DO??
   ASK YOUR REPRESENTATIVES AND GOVERNMENT TO:

    PLEDGE EXTRA MONEY TO THE WELFARE, HEALTH, EDUCATION
    AND FEEDING OF CHILDREN.

    ASK THE UNITED NATIONS to work with all loan authorities to adjust the
    conditions of loans, so that governments may spend more on education.

    REQUIRE all CORPORATIONS & FIRMS WHICH TRADE OVERSEAS
    TO PAY 1% OF THEIR PROFITS TO UNHCR, so that children in refugee
    camps get the same treatment, and that all schools get piped clean water.

HOW CAN YOU DO THIS??

    COPY THIS PAGE AND SEND BOTH SHEETS TO your friend, a parent, a
    teacher, an overseas address, your M.P. or Senator, and your Government.

    Keep a record of where you have sent the letters (district, post code.)

    LET US KNOW where they have gone, and what response you have
    had so we will know what is happening and where to send further material.

        This is a good, positive, worthwhile campaign which needs your support to make it effective.

World Campaign for Children’s Sustenance and Education

This world is being driven by terrorism, increasing armaments, the threat of war and the unequal distribution of money, but it is the children who pay the price, are the most disadvantaged, and it is the next generation that we will need to repair the damage and find simpler ways of living.

We call on all peoples to start a campaign to improve all children’s education and sustenance by REQUIRING YOUR GOVERNMENT TO:

1. Amend their budgets by spending 5% more on children’s education, to be concentrated on the poorer areas, aboriginals and indigenous peoples.
Expenditure to include buildings, teacher training, equipment and at least one good meal a day for every child at school.

2. Ask the United Nations to work with all loan authorities to adjust the conditions of their loans to allow governments to spend more on education.

3. Tax all corporations and firms that trade overseas 1% of their profits to go to UNHCR who will see that all children in refugee camps will get the same treatment and ensure that all schools receive piped clean water.

All people receiving this message are asked to make copies and distribute it on their mailing lists, home and overseas, and send copies to your representatives, governments and media. All NGO’s are welcome to join this effort to ensure a wide distribution.

This program will contribute in a significant way to reducing world tensions, to pointing out the need for co-operation, and to reducing the possibility of war.
