The idea of this photo was to show the entire eclipse in one frame of film, done simply by holding the shutter of the camera open for the entire duration of the eclipse. Unfortunately I had to terminate it early due to extreme cloud cover which would have ruined the shot completely - you can see the effects of thin clouds passing by whilst the eclipse was occuring, for some reason they turned out an eerie green colour, similar to that of an Aurora. The Moon moved from right to left in this photo. The most interesting feature to note is how the Moon dramatically changed its brightness and colour throughout the eclipse: It started off extremely bright, dimming gradually as it entered the Earth's shadow. When the Moon was in total eclipse, it took on a deep red colour, and became a lot dimmer as you can see from its apparent diameter on the photo. When totality was over, it then increased in brightness and lost its reddness.
