Total Solar Eclipse 2002 - Viewing Location

This shot shows my camera setup. On the far left is the Pentax Z-70, coupled with a Tamron 500mm mirror lens, to be used as the primary instrument for imaging both the partial and total phases of the eclipse. In the middle is the Nikon F-70, to be used to capture the entire event in a multiple exposure sequence. On the right is the video camera. Various other cameras and telescopes were not set up at this stage.
The big shed you can see came in very useful - behind it we all sat, ate, and anxiously awaited first contact. It offered complete protection from the westerley winds.
