This photograph was taken from the beautiful costal town of Robe, in South Australia. Looking over the lake was South - a perfect opportunity for a photo of the south celestial pole. During the time the shutter was opened, reflections of the stars and trees on the lake were captured - you can easily pick out the shape of the Southern Cross and Alpha Centauri. Also, just above the tree line in the sky, you can see the dark nebula known as the "coal sack".
