The Sine Wave of Fireflies

As our small boat bobbed up & down as it moved slowly down the river, the trails of the Fireflies were captures and appear like a dotted Sine Wave - the vertical motion due to the boat's bobbing, the horizon motion due to the boat's motion along the river, and the dotting effect due to the Fireflies constant "on and off" light displays.
