Rosie has been involved in the Arts in one form or another since 1987 when she worked for Fine Art Auction Houses in Sydney and Melbourne. After having a break from the workforce to have two children she worked for two years for the Diamond Valley Shire Council in Eltham administrating their annual National Contemporary Art Award. Following a move to Nth Queensland Rosie established the Magnetic Island Arts Co-Operative with 12 other artists which is still running successfully today. Rosie is a practising artist enjoying exploring abstract landscape painting and has sold in exhibitions at Fremantle Arts Centre, Captured Ideas in Applecross and more recently with the Golden Mile Art Exhibition Group. Rosie was Secretary during 2005 and co-curated the Members Exhibition of that year. Community involvements encompassed Au Body, WACKED,AUSIMM Auxiliary, Goldfields Rep Club, KBANG and established Silky Pear Gallery within the Arts Network of Kalgoorlie Boulder to promote local contemporary Art to tourists and locals alike.
After relocating to Adelaide in May of 2007, she has received a $7000 commission for paintings from Terramin Australia and is a regular participant in the Festival Centre Visual Arts Fair.
Rosie is currently painting full time and plans to attend several more abstract/mixed media courses in 2008 and pursue the possibility of a solo or shared exhibition at a South Australian gallery.
Rosie uses innovative techniques to create stunning abstract landscapes. Onto a bitumen foundation she applies, marble, oxides, tissue, handmade papers, crushed rock, resin, adhesives, wax and inks. Rosie was instrumental in founding both the Magnetic Island Arts Co-Operative in Nth Queensland and the Silky Pear Gallery In Kalgoorlie Boulder WA.
