Simple web design
Capsicum Mundi is a name that came to me in a dream. I still don't know what it means or where it will lead. This page is a new web space opened up with the coming of broadband to the Brandt Family. I'm using it to practice new techniques in web design. Today I'm modifying a Free CSS Template called Capsicum, funnily enough.
The truth is in here
Sometimes God moves in mysterious ways. That's probably for the intelligent, subtle people. With the dummies like me He seems to keep chasing the wayward sheep who keeps looking for interesting herbiage. The more I read the more I seem to come back to the Roman Catholic Church. G. K. Chesterton once wrote that all these multitudinous political, social, economic trends basically boil down to two points of view. The Church and her enemies.
God is Love, Love lives, Love is a Person! St John saw this thousands of years ago.
Faith comes by Hearing
Have a listen to some Apologetics MP3s or some top notch homilies. There's lots to read out there. Pray for the Holy Spirit - the Spirit of truth.
Technical specifications
This is my new page at Internode. We have now got broadband through Internode on the recommendations from the Sydney Linux User Group SLUG. They offer unmetered downloads from their mirror which includes a good range of linux repositories.
Before that I was using dial up access through NetKing. For an advance payment they provided unlimited dial up access. No problems encountered.
But I also had a Hermes Net account for my web page and email boxes. Hermes Net is a local ISP. They have a national dial up number now. They charge for the time and the data, but include web space, cgi scripts and email. They also have great web hosting.
Now I have a domain name too: brandt.id.au. I'm using Discount Domains for the registration.
For writing the webpages I use a tex editor like vim. brandt.id.au uses gtml to keep the pages tidy. I'm working on a new portfolio for Peter using BINS.
I try to keep up to web standards thanks to w3c.
