The Havenot's

• The Havenot's    Their official website. Mostly Japanese, of course, but it has a link to their MySpace page which has a fair bit of English, including a profile, and you can listen to some of their songs.

Matt Aoki (guitar and vocals), Shimmy (bass and chorus) and Kohta (drums) are the Havenot's - the punk rock assassins from Yokohama, Japan! Make that punk rock ninja assassins because I've found these guys really hard to catch! They're one of my favourite bands, especially live (fucking awesome doesn't begin to cover it), but I haven't seen them that often. It's not that they don't gig hard but they mostly play in Yokohama and Tokyo. They don't often come to Kansai so don't miss them when they do. They never play a dud show. The Havenot's tour overseas too and toured in Australia in February 2007, which means I got to make this page thanks to the photographic skills of tomodachi Martin, who also sent me a copy of the Bop Records' Havenot's Australian Tour EP. Unfortunately scoring recordings of The Havenot's is even harder than catching them live. Try the internet, or grab them at their shows.

HUGE news about the Havenot's is that their awesome second ever album Rock'n'Roll Weekend came out on April the 21st.

The next Kansai gigs are at Kobe Helluva Lounge on June 9th, Osaka Socio on June 10th, and Wakayama Museum Cafe Vintage on June 24th.
