ee toko

Hi, I'm Helen. Welcome to my aho aho website.

I originally started this page (sometime in 2002 or early '03, I can't remember) to provide a service to like-minded folk who love the Japanese band Ulfuls and who need romanised versions of their lyrics in order to be able to sing along. Romanised lyrics make up most of the 'Ulfuls' section of 'ee toko'. There's also a bit of information about the members, a concert report and an account of accidentally encountering the band on a shinkansen.

I decided a while back to expand on the Japanese musical content of this site. During the last couple of years I've been spending a fair bit of time in live houses around the Kinki area and I've heard a lot of very good music. I've put up links and occasionally a few photos and romanisations for some of my favourite bands plus some information about live houses.
Not all of the bands are Kinki-based, many will have been touring.

Of course the pride of this site has to be my majestic collection of photos of manhole covers and various other things I've found lying on the ground, mostly in Japan.

My original intention was to make the whole site look a bit better someday but although I've played around with the content it still looks like crap. Give me a break. I'm an RN. html isn't exactly my forte.

*Update* I've left this statement in for historical interest but although I'm still registered I've been an English teacher in an eikaiwa (English conversation) school in Osaka since June 2004. Still know sod-all about computers though.
