Junior

Junior have apparently been together since 1996. This means a lot of years of my life that I've wasted not going to their gigs since I only saw them for the first time this April. Brilliant Paddy Punk Rock. There's nothing not to like here from the opening notes of "Danny Boy" to the time they leave the stage bereft behind them.
As well as the usual rock staples of drums (Atsushi Armstrong), bass (Hav), guitar (Hooker) and vocals (Kazuki), Junior have "Go!" on tin whistle (and sax? I'll pay better attention next time!), Katze on accordion and Fat Kohey on bagpipes and bodhran. They've released a bunch of CDs that I'll be buying as soon as I can afford to.

• September 18th 2011 in Wakayama    These shot were taken at the brilliant "Kishu Rock Impact" festival held in the grounds of Wakayama Castle. It had an incredible line-up and was bizarrely underattended. Folks...Wakayama simply isn't that far away.
