Nara Live Houses
- Neverland
This link takes you to their top page where you can see a small photo of the building to make up
for the fact that I didn't take one myself. No apologies, it was pissing down. As you might guess, this
breeze-block beauty that kinda looks like it was made of blue Lego is hard to miss. The map on the site
more-or-less got me there but it's in Japanese and not outstandingly accurate. As you exit Kintetsu
Shin-omiya station (there's only the one exit from the station
and there's a map nearby so you can orient yourself if you like)
head north up the main road and stay on the west side of the street. If you cross the railway lines you're going the
wrong way, assuming you arrived from Osaka. Keep going across the bridge then turn left either along the
little road that runs parallel to the river (whatever it looks like on the map) or route 24, which is the
next left. Soon you'll see either the front or the back of the building.
I like Neverland. It doesn't exactly ooze history but the facilities are nice (although it's small it has two toilets),
the staff are friendly and you
can choose Asahi Super Dry in bottles over the Heineken in cans if you wish. Which I do, of course.
