Wakayama Live Houses
- Gate
It can feel really awkward reviewing a place after only one visit. If you love it it's not
so much of a problem...
It may not have been the venue's fault that the show started nearly an hour late and
that the sound was rather crap. That could be tardy musos not allowing time for proper
sound checks.
The venue does however have to take responsibility for combining the policies of not
allowing re-entry with allowing smoking absolutely fucking EVERYWHERE. If you have
the cheek to pull that shit you should have some pretty shit hot ventilation. Gate does not.
It's even possible that Suntory "Taruzume Nama" doesn't taste like dirty dishwater, just that
my senses of smell and taste were totally clapped out by the fumes.
Two ladies loos, 50cm stage, good visibility, lighting a bit strobe-happy, capacity 300.
Google maps on the
website. Coming from Wakayamashi station on the Nankai line head straight forward from the
station up a widish street till you get to an intersection with a wider street. There's a pedestrian
overpass and a Lawson. Cross the big street and bear left up a smaller street.
Keep going until you see a shopping
arcade across the road and turn left. It'll be a bit further up on your right. About 10 minutes walk
all up.
It looks like this from across the street. The signage is
pretty subtle. Gate is to the left, in the basement.
