Downloading Help

The ISP I use doesn't provide a classic FTP server with which I could allow you to download various documents directly to your computer. There is a workable alternative though (isn't there always ??). Click the one you want to use for more Help.

Using your web viewer

Netscape Navigator
Internet Explorer

Using Microsoft Word

Downloading with Netscape Navigator

Click on the link from the Download Table above.
You will be asked if you want to open the file or save it to disc
If you view it, the document should be visible as it was designed.
Occasionally it will appear as a garbled looking collection of rtf codes (Mail me if you can explain why)
In that case select File, Save as and save the page to disc. from there you will be able to open it with any rtf compatible word processor. Otherwise try method 2

Downloading with Internet Explorer

Click on the link from the Download Table above.
The document should appear as it was designed.

Using Microsoft Word from Office 97 to access documents stored in web server space.

Start your Word programme as usual.
Turn on the web tool bar by clicking the Web toolbar icon Circled in Yellow below

alternatively select Tools, then Customize, and check the web box

Both actions will display the web tool bar as shown below

Copy and paste the URL from the Download table above into the white box and press return.
N.B. if you choose to type the URLs the file names at the end are case sensitive and the words are separated by a dash -

From there the documents can be viewed or saved onto your local computer.
