In the first 25 years of the Twentieth Century, the horse and buggy predominated as a form of personal
transportation. Ninteenth Century thinking continued although electric, steam, and petrol-powered vehicles
         were undergoing continual improvement.

In like manner, as we advance into this present Century, Twentieth Century solutions continue to be
advanced in attempts to solve Twenty-First Century problems.
Into this vein falls the Eastern Busway proposal favoured by TransLink: the combined Public Transport
         Authority for South-East Queensland.

Wikipedia entry.

Adelaide, South Australia, operates a true-DualMode O-Bahn Busway which uses bus-mounted guide
rollers which steer the bus along the track. This page: Bus Priority Systems gives an explaination into
the reasoning, and the guidance systems, pertaining to
"O-Bahn"-type kerb guided busways.

In contrast, Brisbane's TransLink Busways are just a separate heavy-duty separated transport corridor,
often screened by ugly sound barriers, which require the drivers of the busses to still guide the vehicles
         through their conventional steering systems!
