What goes on in da house ... | Archive

(23 Feb) Someone asked me what owning an Xbox is like.

It's like falling in love.

It makes everything, even my 15-year-old TV, look fresh and new. I finished HALO last night and nearly did something unspeakable with the controller. (Note: don't use the one plugged into port 2 if you ever come around.) If it was a PC, I would have spent all that game time tweaking it just to get the program running. With an xbox, you just whack in the disc and game away. Evan calls it 'Boxx-love.'

Then you get it modded. It can now play warez, DVDs, anything.

That's like buying your wife a tit-job, and she doesn't divorce you.

(7th Jan) Ewa had a stroke. Holy motherfuck! Ting Ting noticed something wrong with her face one day, then she went to the Doctor, then she fell over. When we went to see her in hospital she was half paralysed. Yeah, I was concerned for her as a human being and all, but I was also thinking, 'who's going to clean the place now?'

I am so going to hell.

I try to do the windows like she does, but they end up looking like I've just blown snot on them. I tell you, that lady cleans with inhuman technique. I should video her so's I can leech her skillz - after I slow down the film, that is.

Good news: she's made a 90% recovery. Even her face is normal now. Even better, she's coming back in February. Not dissing my housemates' cleaning or anything, but the house will be spotless again!

Yep, hell.

And I'll be able to take time out from cleaning to play my Xbox. I still have to get one first. It's been so fucking hard saving up for an Xbox with all these weddings going on. Six, SIX red packets handed out last year. And then the kinghit: some family nuptials overseas (which got me away from two more back home.)

Destinies are clashing here. It's THEIR destiny to get married and hold hands through property, kids, and counselling. It's MY destiny to become a Jedi Knight slash Armoured Super-soldier slash Illegal Streetrace champion. And it's not like oily food and lame karaoke is helping me get there.

The next one's in Feb. Hopefully I can count on a post-Christmas discount before then. Come on, eBay. Come to Papa. [Note: I was outbid by 30 seconds! Some dork bid a higher price than a new xbox! Screw eBay.]

I am so going to hell. But at least I'll have a clean house and a modded Xbox.
