Overview

Congratulations! You have just become the proud owner of an empty store.
Your task is to turn it into a successful money making venture.
Content area (Mathematics, Language Arts, using PowerPoint, Art)
Grade level:- Elementary
Resources that a teacher would need in the classroom or in the media centre for the students to complete the activity are - Computers, place to store unfinished work [networked Server etc.], colour printer, projector [to display finished work],  Powerpoint [or similar].

  Introduction

 Congratulations! You have just become the proud owner of an empty store.

Your task is to turn it into a successful money making business.

You will be working in a team of 2 - 3.

  The Task
  Start up a store to sell something of your choice. Use your imagination. You can sell whatever you like.
  The tasks are:
1. Your business - what are you going to have your shop sell. Or, what kind of shop are you having. Fill in the Business Proposition Sheet
2. Make a "company logo"
3. Building Design
  the front of your shop
  the top sign and/or display just below the roof .
  the shop window.
  the door and any other area you want to include like the outside small roadside sign.
4. Design your uniforms
5. Design a competition to attract new customers. [ like a free lottery]
6 a. Design a new product for your store to sell. Should be similar to your store's theme.
6 b. Create an ad for this product. You can use animations.
7. Have an adventure in your store and write a recount story about the adventure.
8. Design the shopping bag you will give your customers.
9. Make a PowerPoint presentation for the "boss".
  What you should be able to do after you finish this project.
You should expect to learn how to use PowerPoint.

Drawing with the drawing tools in Microsoft Office.

  Process  - How to do this project
Person 1 Should do the drawing.
Person 2  Should do the typing.
Both people need to help with the PowerPoint presentation.

Both need to know what you are going to say when you present your work.

Students who have similar roles may work together to compare ideas based on the ideas they have, or students may continue to pursue their role individually until the conflict generated forces them to resolve the issue.
