Free instructions are given below for making simple paper boats.
When I designed these in the 1960's we taught a group of  3 year olds how to use a compass and ruler, and how to make these boats. It is amusing how many children first learn to use a ruler to draw a straight line. They lay the ruler down carefully. Then, put the pencil against it carefully and draw a 'straight' line - perpendicular to the ruler! (Don't even blink, just show them the right way.)
The procedure used to make these boats is always the same. But, different size circles will result in a variety of boats (shown at the bottom of this page).
You will draw, cut, fold, then glue.
