Tessellation Lesson Plan

Go To
http://mathforum.org/sum95/suzanne/active.htmlon this page you will see where it says <  Activity Pattern Block applet > click this and make some tessellations at http://www.arcytech.org/java/patterns/patterns_j.shtml
THEN GO TO
http://www.shodor.org/interactivate/activities/tessellate/index.html

Then find the < Dictionary > on the bottom of the page
http://www.shodor.org/interactivate/dictionary/index.html

Look up the meaning of < tessellations > on this page and READ IT THROUGH

Then go on to the < discussion > and read that through.

On the bottom of that page, go to the < activity > and experiment with the tessellations.

Once you have finished there, there are lots of good sites that allow you to make tessellations.

I like:-
Tessellating Animation
http://www.k4.dion.ne.jp/~mnaka/home.index.html

http://mathforum.org/~sarah/java.gsp/sarah.tessellations.gsp.html

Finally,
Tessellation Town is a place where the main occupation is making mosaics.
Build your own personal Tessellation Town at
http://www.mathcats.com/explore/tessellations/tesspeople.html
or visit other tessellation sites.
