A Message For Year 12 Students
Established by Charles Hawker's sister Lilias Needham, the prestigious CAS Hawker Scholarships are valued at up to $60,000.00 over four years. Since
1991, the Trustees have awarded more than 1.5 million dollars to
thirty-five young Australians, including a significant number from
regional areas. The
CAS Hawker Scholarships perpetuate the memory of scholar, soldier, pastoralist
and statesman Charles Allan Seymour Hawker and commemorate the
achievements of one of Australia’s most respected pastoral pioneers. There are a number of fully and partly funded Scholarships awarded each year. The Trustees offer them to academically capable students of principle and character, who are committed to Australia’s future. Selection is based largely on personal qualities. Refer to the How To Apply section for contact details. 2002 Hawker ScholarsFive students were awarded Scholarships this year from a strong field of 170 candidates from around Australia. They were presented with their certificates at a function held in the historic Senior Common Room of St. Mark’s College in Adelaide earlier this year. 8218 4911 Where Successful Applicants Can StudyHawker Scholars are able to study at a range of educational institutions including Adelaide, Flinders, South Australia, A.N.U. and New England Universities and the Marcus Oldham Farm Management College. Postgraduate Hawker Scholars are offered the opportunity to follow in Charles Hawker’s footsteps by enrolling at Trinity College and studying at Cambridge.
