    GUEST STAR INSTRUCTIONS
Joe and Mable is in pre-production and we are ready to record your cameo appearance.

The episode where you appear is attached (see download links at the bottom of the page). We hope you get a good laugh out of it.

We are planning to pre-launch Joe and Mable in mid January, 2004. The airing of the weekly episodes will begin Monday, March 1st.

Your episode number (there are 12 in a cycle) is indicated at the head of your script.

RECORDING: HERE IS WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO...

1) Please take a look at the Joe and Mable site:
Note: This is being built at the moment, but you'll get an idea of the show.

2) Please listen to the beginning episode.
This beginning episode is the 'foundation' episode.  It gives listeners a context for the entire series

This will give you the context of what Joe and Mable is all about.

NEXT...

3) Please review your script.

Your script has already been recorded except for your part, which we will insert into the episode in the sound mix stage.

Please feel free to change the wording for your part so it suits your own voice pattern. However, in order to keep the comedy on "pace", try to keep the same length of dialogue (roughly speaking).

Please note: Your parts (in your script) have been marked in red.

4) Please record your part by dialling:

800-604-4006 (US)
678-255-2173 (international callers)

Please insert the following ID after the prompt: 9870023

Press 1 to make a recording and then follow the system instructions.

In addition it's important that you follow the instructions (below) when you record.  We're working across the world here with Joe and Mable (with different time zones and telephony systems).

The process (below) makes it much easier for our sound people to get your part right when they mix it into the episode.

FIRST...

Clearly identify yourself by name + Take #1... Take #2 etc...

THEN...

LEAVE a couple of seconds of silence at the beginning.

THEN...
Do your recording.

THEN...
LEAVE a couple of seconds of silence at the end.

If you don't like what you hear on the playback just do it again.

Feel free to make as many recordings of your part as you like until you feel comfortable with it.

Don't worry about mistakes and screw ups.  As long as we have a couple of takes of your part, we'll have enough audio material for our sound people to work with and get it right (the wonders of technology).

And last (but not least)... relax, get loose.  Don't act.
Just have fun with it !! This is a comedy.

5) Contact us when you've completed your recording.

Once you have recorded your cameo part for your episode, please let us know by dropping Jane Mark a line at: jpethanks@jpeads.com.

We will listen to it and get back to you if there are any problems.

If you have any questions about the episode in which you "appear", please do not hesitate to call us at 001 618-8376-6086
and we will go over your part with you.

... or email me at jpethanks@jpeads.com

... Or give us your phone number (and a good time to call) and we will phone you.

We have played the beginning lead-in episode to a few people and have had them rolling on the floor, so we believe Joe and Mable are well on their way to creating internet history and we are looking forward to working with you on this most unique project.

AFTER YOU'VE COMPLETED YOUR RECORDING....
WE NEED THE WEBSITE YOU WANT TO PROMOTE

On the date your episode is scheduled to appear, The Narrator of the show, Kenneth Doyle, directs the listeners into the showcase to "Meet Our Guest Star, ____".

There will be a link to a page called "The Joe and Mable Showcase" and a picture of you, together with whatever link you want to promote.

Note: Your picture and website will remain permanently on the Joe and Mable website in a section called "Backstage with the Stars".

PROMOTION: HERE IS WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU...

1) A picture of you that we can use in the showcase.

The size of this pic should be a minimum of 130 by 150 pixels.

2) The website you want to promote with a Joe and Mable affiliate link for us to use.

3) A two or three line bio that we can put right under the picture of you. This can be a real bio, or a funny one, or a lead in to your website, or whatever you like.

4) Two mailings done to your list/ s. One to be done in pre-launch stage and the other prior to your scheduled appearance (to let your members know about this net first and your featured cameo appearance on it).

Please let us know the dates on which you plan to do your two mailings.  Email Jane Mark with the dates (see the PDF checklist).

We will send you a reminder notice one week prior to the mailing date.

Refer to the attached ad recommendation which we have prepared for your convenience. Feel free to change it in any way you like.

There is some urgency with this since once we receive your recording, it takes time for our sound people to complete the mix and integrate your audio into your episode.

We would appreciate it if you could complete your audio recording as quickly as possible, as well as getting the info on the website that you want to promote back to us quickly.

We are completely convinced that Mable will get to Paris with the Joe and Mable show and we are so delighted you are coming with us. See you at the Eiffel Tower for fireworks next New Year's Eve !!

Thank you for being part of the internet's first marketing "soap opera".

Attached is:

1) A check list for your convenience and 2) Ad recommendation to send to your lists (both in the one PDF file). DOWNLOAD HERE:

You should have received the script for your episode in the email you've been sent by Jane Mark. If you haven't received your script in the email (or have problems opening it) please email Jane Mark at: jpethanks@jpeads.com

On behalf of the Joe and Mable team, Thank you for your participation.

All the best.
