Price Point Research:  The 'right' price for your product or service can make the difference between success and failure.

So, what is the 'right' price?

Well, it's the price that your target market is prepared to pay for your product or service based on its perception of what your product or service is worth to them.

So, how do you find this out?  Well, you ask them using the MYPS online pricing survey system [which is a sophisticated pricing survey system developed by a PhD in statistics].

Here's what you do.

Run a Google AdWords campaign that directs your target market through to your sales page for your about to be released product or service.

Instead of asking people to buy your product or service at the end of your sales page you're going to ask them to complete a pricing survey in exchange for a Thank You gift [usually a percentage discount off the eventual purchase price of the product or service].

[Note: For your pricing survey to be statistically meaningful you'll need at least 100 respondents to your survey].

Now, if you've followed the MYPS survey instructions correctly a number of things will follow.

  • You'll get good solid data on what your market is prepared to pay for your product or service.
  • You'll get good solid data which assists you to determine the best pricing strategy for your product or service.
  • You'll have data which tells you whether or not your sales page is working.

For example you may think that your product is worth $30.00 and your market thinks it's worth $50.00.  Your sales page is working.

However, you may think that your product is worth $50.00 and your market thinks it's worth $30.00. Your sales page is NOT working.

  • You'll get a list of respondents [with their email addresses] who've just told you that they want to buy your product. You've just got your first 100 sales [and the launch of an affiliate program if you have one set-up.]
