HAMILTON SHOW SEPTEMBER 2004

September 3rd 2004 left Broken Hill for Hamilton at 3.20pm. For this trip we took the VT commodore as the Forerunner was in the workshop trying to rectify excess fuel useage.

Originally planned to meet Danny and Ben (Wykeetna Kennels) at Mildura and travel with them. However as Danny wouldn't finish work until 11pm we travelled through. The alternative would have been a five hour wait.

Arrived at Hamilton Caravan Park at 2.20am,looking forward to a warm bed as it was cold and had been raining during the whole trip down. We were told by the caretaker that he would leave the cabin key in a certain location so that we would not need to disturb him. Found the key with no problems but it didn't have a cabin number on it so we then spent about twenty minutes driving around the park trying to find a cabin.

Eventually located the cabin. A large three room unit with only a small fan heater which really was of no use considering the temperature and size of the cabin. We had also arranged for the beds to be made with supplied linen, however they were not made up and all we could find was a thin quilt cover. Fortunately we bought doonas and pillows to stop overnight in Mildura on the way home.

Wykeetna arrived at about 5.30am to no beds.

8am Went to showgrounds to setup for the weekend. The grounds were very wet and a cold wind was blowing right through the middle of the area. Also very cramped grounds with three rings set up in an area which would normally only have one ring in it.

Only other Tenterfields were one dog and two minor pups on the Saturday only.

Xena (Shanie Lu) got challenge Bitch on Saturday and Sunday with Best of Breed on Sunday.

Milo (Luarni) got best dog on Sunday

Stayed in Mildura on the Sunday night on the way home. A Long drive and a cold and wet weekend- Don't think we'll do it again.
