The Tale Of the Shed

Last week at our life group break up party I wrote a piece summarizing the year so far called The Tale of the Shed which a few of the members of the group have requested a copy of.

Now for those of you that weren't there I need to set the scene so you can use your imaginations a bit. Picture a smallish dimly lit room (the shed in fact) with about 15 people sitting at 3 small dining tables set on a concrete floor. On the tables is the debris left over after a 2 course dinner, a number of mostly expired candles and lots of tiny gold stars. On the ceiling stretching from the centre of the room to the corners are 4 long bits of white gauze enclosing strings of fairy lights. From the gauze hang a number of gold hearts. It's late and the room is finally pleasantly warm after the ongoing efforts of an ailing reverse cycle air conditioner which has been laboring all night against the cold. There are two white sheets against 1 wall and I'm standing in front of them covering the bookcases on one side and an old fridge on the other.

I reach behind one of the sheets, pull out a somewhat battered bush hat, and in a low flat Australian drawl deliver The Tale of the Shed.

Enjoy!
