About Zkye (pronounce it “Sky”)
 
 

Zkye was born in Adelaide, South Australia and gravitated towards music at a young age starting on piano at age 7. Soon after, she discovered she had a voice and from there it was destined that she was to be a performer.


While still in primary school Zkye’s interest in writing songs was sparked, a passion that remains with her to this day.


Having continued her music study through school, at 16 Zkye went on to study jazz voice at university level. By this time Zkye was performing regularly at local clubs and bars establishing a large and loyal fan base.


After returning from a 2 year stint in Europe Zkye set about recording her first album “Beyond The Pane”, an eccentric mix of tones and colours representative of what was happening in Zkye’s life at this time. The album garnered a devoted cult following of new fans eager to see where Zkye’s talent would lead.


In 2010 having travelled to the USA a handfull of times Zkye knew it was time to release her next album and “In This Case” was born.


Performing all over Australia with some of the best Aussie rockers, Zkye not only holds her own but commands the audiences attention with her emotionally gripping and unforgettable performances.


2012 Saw the recording of Zkye latest release “Just The Way It Goes”.

Recorded in the USA with some of Nashville’s finest writers/studio musicians and engineers. This lastest album is slated for release on Sept 7th 2012. “Just The Way It Goes” is a venture into the roots of the music that has inspired Zkye for her whole life. Steeped in Southern Soul and old school R & B. This is an album well worth keeping your ears open for..


The future and what it holds is an exciting proposition for Zkye. “This girl’s undeniably destined for big things”.
